Your Planning Committee is pleased to announce that we will have our picnic this year on Thursday, July 8. The new venue that has been selected is
Point Lookout Vineyards.
The time is a 5 p.m. Happy Hour followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Point Lookout will have wine, wine slushies, beer, soft drinks and water for purchase. They will also have tables of eight set up for us as well as several food tables. If it rains we can easily move into their very nice pavilion. I know you will be generous in your gratuities for the staff of Point Lookout.
The format for dinner is the same as always with BBQ for purchase and all of us bringing side dishes to share. Hugh Reddish and Steve Weisberg will be following up in a later email concerning these details. We will need to get a headcount soon to make sure Point Lookout is prepared for us.
They will also run a shuttle from the lower parking lot for those needing assistance. They are open till 9 p.m. and they tell me the sunsets are magnificent.
We have not been together as a club in a very long time so I hope that you will want to participate in this event at this great location. You and a guest (husband, wife, significant other) are certainly welcome to attend. Plan now to enjoy a great evening together.
Members can contact Steve Weisberg's for more info. His email is email@example.com
Come with us and experience the diverse natural wonders of Western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina. Our hikes cover a range of terrain from gentle slopes to strenuous mountains, often featuring waterfalls, rocky peaks, spring wildflowers fall colors, fog-covered mountains and clear
views for miles.
We are a hiking club based out of Hendersonville, NC. We have hikes on Mondays and Thursdays every week. Because of COVID precautions, we currently meet at the trailhead for each hike. We leave by 9:00am sharp. Our hikes typically range from 5 to 10 miles in length with total ascents between 500 feet to over 2000 feet. We have two hikes on Monday and two on Thursday - one being easier and the other harder.
The 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month we also offer a Social Hike. This is a shorter and easier hike, usually less than 5 miles miles long with a total ascent under 500 feet.
We have a wide range of interesting hikes. We range from very easy and nearby hikes such as Carl Sandburg's Connemara to distant and difficult hikes such as Mount LeConte in the Smokys. The majority of our hikes are in the Pisgah National Forest, but we have a number of hikes in DuPont State Forest and in the Upstate of South Carolina
Do you have a question about one of our hikes or would like to hike with us? Send a message, and we will get back to you shortly.
